I have no care if somebody is openly gay or not, just qualifications. This morning I caught this on the news and the only thing said was that he was openly gay. I had to look into the Army Times to see his qualifications. I hope the best for him.

Oh my God! A gay man! Is everybody in the Army going to get a cooties inoculation? Who has two thumb and don't care. THIS GUY!

He's more than qualified, regardless of his sexual orientation, he has earned his position.

That is great. His sexual orientation has no affect on me. What bothered me was this morning on Good Morning America they only mentioned his sexual orientation and nothing else.

The only thing I object to is that they have to use this as if it were something that gives him more qualifications to be the Army Secretary. As with most appointments, the fact that they are homosexual, their gender or their ethnicity should not be the governing factor but pure experience and success up to this point. Lots of political experience to fall back on, even though he never carried a rifle.
