I wish you all the luck in the world in getting your claim processed. I have been waiting 5 YEARS! First claim for pancreatic cancer, diabetes from loss of over half of pancreas, Blurred vision from diabetes, Now I have a pain pump which causes total loss of balance. First claim denied as the VA said the NAVY said I didn't get radiation from the Hawk Missile System while in their service. (I was ARMY 1973-1979) Second claim denied as VA said the AIR FORCE said I didn't get exposed to HAWK radiation in their branch. Appeal denied with no reason given. NOD (Notice of Disagreement) filed 12.22.2015 and eBenefits shows pending but no date given. General Counsel for VA in Kentucky has now advised me I cannot contact the KDVA any longer so I picked the DAV as my VSO. My contact is on vacation at Disneyworld (talk about irony) and won't be back until June 6.
I am a 100% Disabled Viet Nam vet and this is the response I get? I suppose I will call Mitch McConnell (KY Sen - R) on Tuesday and have him offer assistance to the DAV. I may call the BVA for advice as well. In the interim my wife and I subsist on SSDI.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. My claim is Fully Developed with a ton of documentation. I have done everything by the book but the VA is useless.
Thanks,
Rick

And to think that every time I go into the VA I have to see this jokers face on the wall. Why would he even say something like this? I just came back from my VA appointment today. Whenever I go there, I start to get upset. But I have to admit, the people that work there coupled with my awesome PCP, it made my appointment much more tolerable. However, I have waited in excess of six months for this visit. I was also put on a waiting list to see a podiatrist so I was able to qualify for VA Choice. The sad part was that many Civilian doctors that participate in this program have yet to be paid for their services by the VA. Amazing huh? Hopefully by now, they have been paid.

In Denver, they are now conducting an inquiry because the upgrades and additions to the hospital have yet to be completed. They are a couple of years behind. I always tell people that if I have to wait to be seen so that a Veteran whose conditions are way worse than mine can be seen first, I don't mind; actually I prefer it that way. Veterans have to wait for an appointment, then they have to wait to be seen, wait hours for their meds and then get told by some politician that this wait is similar to that of Disneyland. Sir, you should resign your position and let someone (preferrably) that has served in the military and is currently receiving benefits through the VA.
