This would definitely open up the Chromebook platform, but it's still too much of a dumb-terminal for me. But, for those that are weary of full scale machines and the cost of such a device, then the relatively inexpensive and dumb Chromebook would work. Wonder if it will replace the iBook? Either way, I'm sticking with my Linux. Penguins for the win!!

Google has actually been considering eliminating the Chrome OS and just porting Android to the PC platform...

I've played with chrome OS on a raspberry. I've determined chrome OS is useless. Of course that's personal preference. Either Linux or Android for me, please.

They're not really that pointless. They're school laptops basically. When I used to do IT work as a civilian I would recommend Chromebooks to people that royally screwed up their computer. Most people don't need the full power of a computer and a chrome book can just be reset easily without losing anything
