I don't disagree with the QMP or QSP boards or the weeding out. What I disagree with is the amount of peers and subordinates I have come across that are being denied early separation for school or work. Let them go first in my opinion, weed out afterwards.

They want to draw down the size of the Army, yet they say that the soldiers are overstressed from all the deployments. Well duh, quit downsizing, increase a few percent, and have more people to do the job.

This is not about downsizing. This is about shaping the force. The recruiters and their restrictions are what limit the size of our force. Now, if so many NCOs have been slacking in their career then the near term effect may appear to downsize our force. However, I feel that no matter what the Army has in place the NCO should take hold of their own career.

This will accomplish a few things. 1. Make those NCO's that have been just sliding by, either get their act together or get out. 2. It will also bring the Army down to the target number of Soldiers, based on the total force numbers that have been given to the Army. 3. It will get the Army within the Budget that it needs to be in to sustain the force. If you really look at it, it's all about money.
