Great, another reason to apologize for being an educated white man.

Poor grammar is about as equal-opportunity across the races as you can get. Ever listened to a NASCAR pit-boss's grammar? My own grammar sucks sometimes. So I just can't wrap my cranium around how they think it's racist. If we want to communicate successfully with each other, there needs to be common rules on how we put words together. How tough is that concept?

Grammar.... My grammar is not that good specially at times when I translate from Spanish to English, how I alway appreciate the person that corrects me to me is respect, I want to to better myself. How can it be races??? Seems to me that if I look at someone is wrong if I say something is wrong if j even walk is wrong. We are living in a world that is all politically correctness and people looking for an excuse to sue, fight, or even get attention. Yes we are in the last days according to the bible. Seriously grammar races, what's next???

I have always had an excellent command of language. I not only studied American, but also English and nine others. (I studied other languages, not to speak them, but to better understand my own.) I wanted to write stories. Sadly, I didn't have the opportunity until retirement from earning a living (few earn a living writing). However, my language skills always set me apart from my competitors. It gave me a measurable advantage. Those who cling to any variation such as the language of he ghetto so that they feel like they belong, are only hurting themselves.

Col Joseph Lenertz - I'm sincerely confused. Is there another way to pronounce "toast" than the way you suggested? That is the only way I have ever heard it pronounced.

SFC (Join to see) - LOL. I've been told my "O" is too hard. A long-ago girlfriend from Ohio pronounced it "Taahhhost", (still one syllable, but transitioning from a short "a" to a long "o", and claimed I was wrong.

English is a language, not a race. If you have poor grammar, then improve it. STOP pulling the RACE CARD just because you are butt hurt when someone tries to correct you! Chances are if you have poor grammar in English (as your second language), you probably have poor grammar on your native language. Get better or get over yourself!! I got over myself since mine sucks, too. haha

Looks to me like Mona Chalabi is using the victim mentality to further her personal financial gain. Since we can't identify bad or incorrect grammar, I guess we should just stop all language education because teaching someone to speak a language properly is clearly an expression of white privilege and a horribly racist act. Maybe we need to pay reparations to all those poor students who were forced to learn to speak languages properly, as they clearly had to be victimized over and over as they were mercilessly corrected by their teachers. I am so thankful that this brilliant lady brought this to our attention. ;)
