In my book all can serve, and instead of us being ruled by fear and ignorance, I choose to see how extraordinary individuals can serve, humans are weapons with each with unique abilities added to a team.

SSG(P) (Join to see) "you'll have people that just say their transgender"
Really? Why don't you say you're TG? Probably for the same reason no one else will. It is, frankly, dangerous to be TG. Those who truly are TG in the service have risked a lot to serve their nation.

What, exactly, are the "benefits" of claiming to be transgender? Are they:
Discrimination?
Snide remarks?
Risk of violence?

Or, are you worried that a trans woman will outscore you on a PT test? If that's the case, I suggest you deal with your own issues and devote less of your time and concern about other people.

Let's be honest the military is a perfect and there are sick people in the military. That doesn't just mean that certain people will try to reap the benefits of claiming to be transgender by switching their PT standards but also people claiming to be transgender might get housed in area they shouldn't be in in the first place and then use that to take advantage of somebody.

Right... I think if a male soldier wants to take advantage of a female soldier, he isn't going to change his gender so he can live in the same housing quarters. Just think about how absurd that sounds, SPC Voye.

Besides, do you think the DOD is going to let people change gender identity on a whim? There will be a thorough process in place to be sure people are sincere. I don't think, unless you are trans, this is an issue you need to worry about.
