I know (and already have read) stuff about "I know how to get my point across without being a good writer" , and "why is this important with so many other problems", etc.

Being a good writer is more than just a display of your grammar and spelling skills. It is indicative of one's ability to order thought and express a logical progression of arguments to support a topic or position. By practicing this in writing, one can strengthen these important cognitive abilities.

I never misunderstood my NCOs due to a lack of writing skills, but they were following the KISS principle.
