I remember using these old bad boys, the 8" floppys. Then along came the "new" 5 1/2" floppys...lol

My first floppies were 5 1/2. I've never touched a 8".

Me too. And I remember spray painting floppies red, so we could quickly see they held classified material, before there were colored floppies available...

My first job post Navy had a system that used the 5 1/2" floppy disks.

I think you told me that a few weeks ago after a long discussion explaining a lot of Sailor insider jokes about deployment. Apparently, some Navy systems still use them.

Actually this was a Border Patrol system (I was a contractor with them for a short time).
