Thanks for sharing SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. I expect this information is news to many RallyPoint members but for me it is a reminder of broken faith. The VA has been chartered to do many things. Some things they do pretty well and some things less well and some things poorly. The VBA side has too many examples of substandard processing.
I hope they begin to do much better.

One of the best choices the VA has made recently is to provide VA Benefits Briefings to Transitioning Servicemembers before they Separate or Retire. Briefings are now provided by over 300 VA Benefits Advisors "stationed" at bases around the world. They educate soon-to-be Veterans, Dependents and Survivors about all types of VA Benefits. This is something MOST Veterans didn't receive when we left the service--an education on VA terminology. What you request, which form you use and your terminology can make all the difference in how fast and accurately every claim is processed--or not. I'm grateful the VA put the Advisors out here to educate as many people as possible so we can turn around the aggravation caused by misinformation, misdirection and inaccuracies. Keep up the great work!
