My wife and I are seriously considering the DNA test to help us determine our origins.

Genealogy is one of my top priority interests. I will share one interesting aspect of my family history.

My great grandmother on the Mc Farland side of the family was a Cunningham before marrying my Great grandfather Jessie Buffington Mc Farland. Her grandmother was a Cleveland. Therefore I can trace her side of the family back to 1520 in England. Buried in the First Burial Ground cemetery in Woburn, Mass. is my great grandfather 13 times over, Aaron Cleveland who was born in 1654. One other direct descendent of Aaron's is Grover Cleveland, the only president to be president twice, but not one term after the other. A space of one term between his 2 terms. Reelected after sitting out one term. So I am a relative of Grover Cleveland's. Pictures of Aaron Cleveland's grave stone in Woburn, Mass and his wife's grave stone in the cemetery close to the Harvard University district are enclosed. Also a picture of the entry to the First Burial Ground Cemetery in Woburn, Mass. My son lives just 5 miles from this cemetery in Reading, Mass. During my last visit with him this last June, we went to the cemetery and found Aaron's gravestone. My research on the internet told me where he was buried. How fortunate could I have been, being that close to my son's home. What a wonderful moment to see and take pictures of his gravestone.

Subject: Genealogy

Genealogy is one of my top priority interests. In the last ten years, I have traced my family back on both sides. I can trace my mother's side of the family back to 1390 on her mother's side in Northern Spain and back to 1600 on her father's side in England. Her father was 40% Cherokee Indian. I can trace back to 1590 on my father's grandmother's side. I have a relative from 1590 buried in a cemetery in Boston just 5 miles from my son's home.

We are all related in some way, going back all the way to Adam and Eve.

Sincerely,
B.J. Mc Farland LT DC USNR (Ret'd)
