How is this better than the A-10, that some want to declare obsolete? MSG Tom Early, the Osprey and J-35 took decades to deliver. My vote is use the A-10s and this old bird, until a suitable (meaning as effective) proven air frame is delivered and ready for combat use.

Master chief, the two AC are not in the same park, never mind the same team.
Look at the lower speed capabilities.
Look at the runway length and type required
Look at the maintenance and logistics needed to support one vs the other.
Look at cargo capacity..one has enough room to move a team into distant rough terrain short airstrip.. The A10 has NO cargo capability

SGM Erik Marquez - OK, but was the revered A-10 designed to carry cargo or CAS? I will never be in a position to see which is better, but I think if I were in trouble, I would want the A-10, especially since I am not familiar with the other air frame.
