I think athletes in general should stand up against all this non sense who better to do it then them? All children look up to them and it's a good way to start a movement without violence

MSG Donald Johnson - Agree with you and I didn't mean literally all children but majority have at least one person they can look up to and all it takes is for them to speak out on it instead of ignoring a pre game speech a video or something racism will always be around you can't stop that! But this blacklivesmatter Bullshit that's going on is just causing more and more trouble there black on black crimes everyday but no one speaks on that in the end we are all created equal and all have the same rights all in all #ALLLIVESMATTER

Speak to what is happening in So. Chicago where the black population is being killed by the hundreds, by blacks. Michael Jordan has been one of my favorite sports figures for many years when playing and post-career. He is a class act that many others could follow.

I will not comment on Michael Jordan's generous donation. That would be absurd. But it does raise an issue that I've often thought about. Doesn't it seem that Congress has devolved into a spendthrift society? There is no problem that they won't throw money at. But, is that what is needed? How about some leadership. Now this may seem absurd, but imagine this scenario: There's a problem and our representatives meet in Washington and craft a solution. The members then return home to instruct We the People in the solution and how to implement it. They then lead the effort. No money invested. Just human labor, coordinated human labor. I suspect that might work in some cases. What also might work is to have respected celebrities (sports, entertainment, religion, whatever) stand up for what's right and lead by example. Certainly, their money is welcome. But is it effective when highly visible and respected individuals act destructively? When they set the wrong example? I'm not saying Jordan has done this, but we all know of many who have, don't we?
