Does Black Success Matter?

Everybody’s success matters. We’re all Americans.

Indeed and we should study those who succeeded and how. Booker T. Washington and Martin Luther King, Jr. were vast success stories that we distill down to a few points in history class when in actuality they overcame great odds, showed courage and stamina in the face of an oppressive nation, and yielded great results. Since Booker T. criticized all to include people of his own race, he is relegated to Uncle Tom status. Was anyone required to read "Up From Slavery" in school?
King's methods are largely ignored outside of his use of civil disobedience and the only thing people remember about his speeches are his sermons and the single phrase "I have a dream". They forget that the theme was judgment not based upon skin color but by the content of their character.
Think about the content of character next time someone is confronted/arrested/shot by police before judging the police. That was the goal.

It does not go far enough. Every person of any color should have society's desire to see them succeed.
