Race, sex, and gender do matter. People may like to think that character, integrity, courage, and all of those warm and fuzzy traits come first, but unfortunately for many they do not.
Many people still see skin color, sex, gender, and vocal accent before they see or hear anything else, and until the perpetual subjugation of non-WASP minorities ends, humanity will suffer.
