Terribly barbaric! The law itself which punished the female victim for breaking Sharia customs, is indecent.

A Saudi Arabian woman must be accompanied by a male guardian — typically relative — at all times in public. The rape victim violated this law by meeting a friend to retrieve a picture.
A 19-year-old gang rape victim was sentenced to 200 lashes and to six months in jail for the crime of indecency and speaking to the press.
Saudi Arabia defended a controversial verdict sentencing a 19-year-old gang rape victim to 200 lashes and six months in jail. The Shi’ite Muslim woman had initially been sentenced to 90 lashes after being convicted of violating Saudi Arabia’s rigid Islamic Sharia law on segregation of the sexes.
The decision handed down by the Saudi General Court more than doubled her sentence last week. The court also roughly doubled the prison sentences for the seven men convicted of raping her, Saudi media said.
The upholding of a decision to punish the victim triggered international outcry.

This is the culture the left seems to want to embrace these days. It is overrunning Europe and some want more of it here. The mistreatment of just about anyone but a muslilm man in many of these countries/cultures (to use the word very loosely) is acceptable. It is women, Christians/Jews (or any non muslim faith), homosexuals, etc. If you do not conform to their beliefs or if you are a second class citizen be prepared to be dealt with harshly. It is a 12 century mindset being enabled by the western society of the 21st century.

You are correct in our words...TOTALLY BARBARIC and BACKWARDS. There is no place for this in a civilized world...but then again they aren't civilized under Sharia Law. At least in this country we are able to agree to disagree without repercussion. I firmly believe these barbaric people will have to face judgment one day and answer for this type of behavior. This poor girl got raped and then was the victim again by getting lashed and imprisoned for something she could control.
