MSgt Lionel (Leo) Rondeau I don't remember a hue and cry when Bill Clinton dogged the draft.

Then you have a very poor memory.
Bill did not claim to be a military expert who knows more than the Generals and learn more in preps school that we who have served,

There are a multitude of medical conditions which can prevent one from joining (or being drafted into) the military. Some of them do not prevent people from playing sports (Asthma for example). This quest to disqualify someone for not being drafted is stupid. Especially when there have been examples of a President who admitted to actively protesting the war and avoiding the draft.

Not sure it really matters anymore. He was not the only one to buy his way out. CCR wrote a line in a song about it.

Lots of people got deferments. For many it was the motivation that got them the degree they otherwise might not have gotten. A very good friend of mine was told by his father who was serving in Vietnam to stay in school avoid Vietnam. He did, and I didn't and we are still good friends. Not everyone has to serve in the military to prove they are good, loyal patriots.
