Our country, and world for that matter became a darker place when we began to tolerate this kind of killing and violence. Our society has given a platform to anybody willing to perform these heinous crimes.

I’m not a fan of copying other countries. I believe Canada’s policy is a complete blackout of all news on a crime/trial until the trial is completed and a verdict is rendered. Some will say “The people have a right to know”, and they do. They don’t have a right to know immediately. We need to stop these “half-truths”, otherwise known as lies that incite violence. That’s also against the law.

Until our government is willing to stop these people and groups lying to further their cause, there is nothing we can do.

I couldn't agree with you more!

A great example of the fallout that occurs when half-truths are broadcast on television, social media, etc.... and then the public uses confirmation bias to turn it into self-proclaimed "truth" would be the Michael Brown shooting. Witness 101 in the trial was the person that claimed he was shot in the back and his hands were up that spawned the "hands up, don't shoot" phrase. While in court, Witness 101's interview with the news given the day of the shooting was proven to be a lie.

However her lie caused an outrage that spawned violent riots and many more deaths and furthered the divide we are experiencing in this country.

When people's actions "and" speech cause violence it's time we put a stop to it. One can distinguish between truth vs. lies. Truth is free speech, that's part of our country. Lies aren't covered by free speech; that's the equivalent of yelling fire in a theater when there is none.
