I'm in agreement with COL Lee Flemming, every person needs to know. Pretty much like every member on a sports needs to know the playbook. I hate to say it like this, but it's pretty much the ideology of "man down, next man up" that sports teams use.

Yes I agree...however....every person cannot be a pitcher or a back catcher, or a short stop. Every one has to fight the way he knows how and know his limits. We fight as a team with individuals playing roles. Should every soldier or military member know how to shoot? yes. Can every one of them be a sniper? no.

That's why I said they need to know the playbook, not how to play everyone's position.

SSG Stephan Pendarvis - I agree to an extent. Each Soldier, Sailor, Airman and Marine needs to know the basics of how to fight an enemy.

If you joined ANY branch of the Armed Forces, it is your duty to know how to fight. Regardless of your job specialty, you are entrusted to Support and Defend the Constitution of the United States.

Yes indeed, they also should be able to recognize the enemy also.
