You might want to entertain the possibility that establishment republicans are concerned about Trump winning as it puts their power base at some risk and may also undermine their influence on the political front. An outsider in their party winning a national election would hurt many of them. Make no mistake, many of them fully know this and are trying to undermine him to their own advantage.
