As if the US's (only) goal should be a stable Iran. Individual nations have their own agendas...and Iran's agenda is to export terrorism and build nuclear weapons with which to conduct a nuclear war with Israel. Iran has made that clear. The US goal for the Middle East is a stable Middle East, which could only be possible with an Iran that either a: wants a stable Middle East or b: Is deterred from starting a war in the Middle East. Neither of those options require Iran to be internally stable.
