The NFL is a business. The business is being hurt by the shenanigans of some of the players. The NFL is also being hurt by it's leadership (namely Goodell). Goodell tried to cover up the Ray Rice assault in the elevator, he has ben slow on the concussion issue and he missed the boat on the kneeling during the anthem.

I believe it is a confluence of issues in the NFL that are hurting it. This is a game where you can get a penalty for shaking your ass too much in the end zone (unsportsmanlike conduct) but kneel during the national anthem and all is well. Both are simply expressions when you boil them down to their essence. The former attempts to rub your opponents nose in your success. The latter tries to rub the nose of the fans in your personal issues.

Listening to panels like this is mostly a waste of time. They start off on a false premise, namely that cops are killing unarmed (innocent) black men at some unreal rate and implicate the police falsely. Then we go from there. All of these folks have a vested interest in advancing the NFL, they still make their living off of it (as broadcasters not players).

From what I've read, Skip left ESPN because he wanted more money. Do you have anything to say which is more truthful ?

SFC James Asbill - Skip got paid. They offered him $4 million/yr while Fox gave him $5.5 million/yr with a $4 million signing bonus. ESPN would have kept him if they could.

I think that he has the right to protest if that is his choice. We have the right to not watch his protest or game he plays in. It also breaks my heart that the ratings are low. I guess you get what you deserve.

MSG Jay Jackson - That's what we fought for - freedom. Everything has consequences, though.
