I don't think that's going to work out as well for him as he thinks it does.

I actually think it's probable that this will end up strengthening our ties with Vietnam.

Not much surprise that President Rodrigo Duarte doesn't want US forces in his nation MSG (Join to see). If Hillary Clinton is elected he will definitely realign with China nd Russia while maintaining economic ties to the USA. If Donald Trump is elected, Duarte will most likely realign with the USA against the war on Terror and Drugs while attempting to improve relations with China nd Russia.

I'm pretty sure he THINKS he will maintain economic ties, but if we have no boots on the ground there, we can write them off and let them dig their own hole.
