I am currently working for the Census Department on the 2020 Census. I was somewhat surprised to find their wage in my area is $18.50 an hour for office work. You can find out the rate before you apply for your area. All veterans with an Honorable Discharge are being hired now on a priority basis, both for positions starting immediately, such as planning the April count, finding locations where local Census takers can be trained, etc. and for soon to start training for visiting homes to interview people. Part time flexible (generally may have to work up to 30 hours a week) or full time jobs which are now fewer. Taking the Census helps your community get its fair representation in Congress and gets your state and district get its fair share of Federal funding. You will learn to understand your community better. If you are interested in a lot of detail about the Census look also at
