I follow, however, that was for them to decide, though I fathom your point...the Hermit Kingdom will always need to be watched, alongnwity those Peking idiots, it's a perfect NATO-like containment analogy....

Capt Daniel Goodman - It has been almost 30 years since we left PI. I was flying there most holidays from Korea during 2000-04 and it was a mess. Now it has a lot of criminals from other countries going there. There are good and bad places, just like here....but the over all standard is not an improvement. Did you know in the 1960-80s Koreans always thought of PI as the big rich country. Kind of funny now.

I'm sorry...obviously, I was wrong, for that I'm sorry, of course, I've never been to the PI, my next younger brother was there a long while ago while !merchant Marine, he told me of a great deal of poverty in places he'd seen, Jed gone on a pretty far Pacific cruise, seeing South Korea, Japan, the Philippines, Oahu, I've obv never seen any of those, and, mso, hadn't keantnto he glib, certainly, of course, I completely understand your pppoint, I think, he also saw a goof deal of Europe as well as South and Central America, as well as both coasts of the US, and also a good deal of Alaska and the Aleutians...I expect, given what you've seen, and all he saw, it obv isn't my place, certainly, to make such generalizations, I can certainly perceive, given what you'd said, that they were quite clearly facile on my part, my apologies....

Who thought that US forces would be pulled out if there's a peace treaty signed? WWII ended in 1945...it's 2018 and we still have US forces in Europe. "Major combat" in Iraq has ended twice now. We still have troops there and will probably for a long time as well. I don't know why anyone would think Korea would be any different.
