Is Marijuana the new medical miracle or just a dangerous gateway drug? Each joint is equal to 20 cigarettes. Did the government just spend billions to tax and just about shut down the tobacco industry? Is the goal of local governments to raise funds (for their spending and borrowing) regardless of the risk to youth and society in general?

Do yu think that legazation makes it any easier to get, If you are uner 21 it is laready easier to get than alcohol is. Is the risk real or imaginary. MJ prohibition is as effective as the prohibition of alcohol was, a medically more dangerous drug, it make criminals rich and encourage corruption

A few other countries have already faced a serious drug epidemic. For example, Portugal once had a serious heroin problem. So they took the whole "drug" issue away from the ministry of justice and gave it to the ministry of health to solve. Situation much improved.
A lot of folks say it can't work here. When I analyze their arguments, it usually boils down to a Puritan moral belief that people who disobey societal norms MUST be made to suffer punishment. Others refer to differences in culture--they often mean we have black people, with the implication that AA people are a problem to be solved.
So I guess the voters have spoken and we'll soon see what Jeff Sessions and Mike Pence want to do about it. Oh crap!

TO BE CLEAR: Medical marijuana is not the same as Purple Haze. Marijuana is composed of several totally different components--THC gets you high, and CBD gives the medicinal effects. Medical MJ is bred to be heavy on CBD and low in THC. Also, MMJ is often reduced to its oils so it can be put into food. I know many terminally ill persons use MMJ in their feeding tubes to reduce anxiety, pain, and inflammation.
Those of us who remember Toledo Windowbox also know why it's called marijuana instead of its proper name--cannabis. A Mexican-sounding name was used to make immigrants look bad.
