Thanks for sharing CSM Michael J. Uhlig I hope Bowe Berdahl spends the rest of his life in prison for what he did and why.
FYI, I have a son who served with 3/75 Rangers for three years. He is languishing in a Medium-Security Federal-Prison after being transferred in a hurry from the Disciplinary Barracks at Fort Leavenworth last December.

Bergdahl needs to be prosecuted and after the findings of the military trial, his sentence should be administered.
His defense attorney is bringing up a valid bias issue as President elect Trump has stated his opinion on Bergdahl situation.
I don't see the statement alone justifies a Presidential pardon.

I can see President Obama granting a pardon as a way of putting the issue to rest and stop any inquiries into the prisoner exchange that occurred to secure the release.

I agree with you 100% Sir. The issue here is granting pardon for a sentence that has not even been established. It would be similar to treating a disease in a healthy person. I give our President all honor and respect regardless of who we are talking about, Mr. Trump or President Obama, but either one must allow the US Army field grade and general officers to resolve it at their level. Our commanders are professionals and fully capable of handling this situation without presidential/political interference. Bergdahl's lawyer is trying to manipulate and play with laws, but establishing justice is far from his horizon. My thought Sir.

CSM Michael J. Uhlig He walked off the job! If any of us had done that when we were in OIF we would have been court martialed. There is a reason that he wasn't killed or beheaded immediately and used as progranda! He should answer for walking off the job and those he put in danger trying to rescue him. Let the justice system within the military do their job. POTUS needs to stay out of it. If he pardons this guy then our military justice system isn't worht the paper it was written on. Just my 2 cents Michael!
