Amen to the congressional retirement aspect. There is no way the people's representatives in a republic should have a retirement system that sets them apart and far above the people they ostensibly serve. They have turned public service into a private trough that only benefits a few.

The Ponzi scheme called Social Security has always been based on the premise that most contributors wouldn't live long enough to collect. Raising retirement age just compensates for us old farts living longer.
