The article states there is a new delay expected of at least 7 months and an increase by more than a half billion dollars, even though the planes, themselves, may be getting cheaper to build.
The Air Force and Marine versions cost has gone down (5.5% & 1.8% respectively), but the Navy carrier version has gone up (2.5%).

its about time ... the technology should be getting cheaper and the Project has been shelves once already...

Our president-elect has been come up with ideas that others here on rallypoint didn't think of which was taking the technology of the F-35 not the stealth but just electronics and guidance systems and putting them in an F-18 Super Hornet or what I was suggesting is putting it on an F-15 es which is only flown by Singapore and sat Arabia and as Superior to our existing at 15th.
The F-35 cannot dogfight some on RP said that the F-35 shouldn't dogfight.
I'm saying and I'm sure Donald Trump's thinking the same thing that if you can make a plane that actually can dog fight instead of do a ballet dance like a fat F-35 in a dog fight and lose then you have the F-35 as a standoff plain and you have the f-15s and the F-18 Super Hornet as the ones that dog fight those enemy planes that get through. This idea may piss off stockholders and people in the u.s. Air Force but it makes sense why have a trophy playing is kind of like having a fat Rolls Royce that can't maneuver like a Porsche Carrera. I'm really happy about them thinking outside the box especially when the F-18 and the F-15 have 2 engines. A top retired Air Force General from Canada dislikes a plane with one engine especially if you're flying in the Arctic of Northern Canada. This General will the book called generally speaking he's in his nineties and he was the General who spotted Rommel staff car and called in an airstrike which got him wounded and sent back to Berlin in 1944.

Col. John Boyd was instrumental in the development of both the 15 & 16 - the 16 purposely designed to not have all the bells and whistles that the 15 had in order to allow for more production.
While the 35 looks to be slightly based similarly to the 16, they are trying to stuff all the bells and whistles into a smaller frame.

Do we need to buy new USAF trainers to replace the T-38 or should we use the money to buy planes...
The USAF is about use or lose $50 billion dollars for a new trainer. I feel that the USAF has made poor decisions lately. Why not refurbish the T-38s like they are doing to the A-10s? They wanted to kill the A-10 Warthog and put all the money in the buggy and fat F-35. Donald Trump is thinking about making less F-35s and maybe using the F-18 Super Hornet with F-35 upgrades. I sugggest the F15 SG which Saudi Arabia and Singapore have as good...
