I stumbled upon this by accident and was amazed. Can anyone verify if this is what the Middle East looked like before fundamentalist Islamist took over?

I think that Afghanistan shouldn't have to be either Western or fundamentalist...The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan should just be itself. The Taliban, on the other hand, is a vile curse on the country, economy, and society, that wasn't meant to be. Ashraf Ghani really has to be more proactive in evicting terrorism from his country.

I have seen many pictures of it when it was civilized. It was a vacation spot. Some of the best weed in the world was there. It was the Amsterdam of the middle east. I have said that Afghanistan would be on of the premier skiing locations in the world if they could stabilize the country and then get rid of the millions of land mines.
