He admitted to a mistake to avoid a court martial. That does not invalidate what he did. Everything he has said on the national stage has been demonstrably false. It is no wonder that he was voted out of office.

As for Strom Thurmond, he served honorably in the Army. He did not retire in disgrace to avoid a court martial. However, he was a noted racist for many decades. I have about as much use for him as I do for West.
