Trump continues to exceed my expectations, Colonel. As I've said before, to me he was the lesser of the two evils on deck, so I was never a worshipper. However, things like this, and how he's tweaking China's nose, Boeing, the F-35 program...I'm starting to think that the country is in for a much-needed shake-up that was unthinkable before his election. And, I hope so. I definitely think the Feds should step in in Chicago.

I agree, same same for my vote, lesser of two evils. And I like the shake-ups I've seen so far.

Maybe a little Martial Law wouldn't be a bad thing.
But boy, would the cacophony of "Trump is Hitler" sobbing reach unimaginable levels.

One would think the gangs in Chicago alone were high enough of a profile to get the feds in there in the first place. Of course they also should've showed up to police the corrupt politicians awhile ago. Pretty bad that the locals almost refer to their corrupt politicians as a source of local pride.

MSG Tom Earley - You are 90% correct. The Feds can get a Federal Judge to sign an order (Usually its an agreed upon consent decree) that requires Chicago PD to do certain things. There are many large cities (Los Angeles is one) that are currently under federal consent decrees. If the Feds can show that crime has crossed state lines, they can also get involved. That's how they are actively involved in many gang task forces across the country.
