What is being is described is only one side of the argument. How about waiting until the prosecution rests and the jury is out.

Also 2LT (Join to see) , might want to brush on both USMC rank and the UCMJ. A Drill Instructor is an enlisted billet. Conduct unbecoming of an officer can only be charged against a commissioned officer or warrant officer, grade 2, 3, 4 or 5. Dispite what was shown in "A Few Good Men", there is no article titled "Conduct unbecoming of a US Marine".

I am not covering for the Drill Instructors, but having served a couple of tours as a DI, I know from practical and professional skill that these things are rarely what they seem to be. Some times they not as bad as they are made out to be and others are much worse.

Patience, before we light the bonfire.

Well said. The Marines in question can be charged for "questionable behavior" ( hitting on recruits sister and having recruit do DIs college courses) under Article 134.
Article 134. General article:
Though not specifically mentioned in this chapter, all disorders and neglects to the prejudice of good order and discipline in the armed forces, all conduct of a nature to bring discredit upon the armed forces, and crimes and offenses not capital, of which persons subject to this chapter may be guilty, shall be taken cognizance of by a general, special, or summary court-martial, according to the nature and degree of the offense, and shall be punished at the discretion of that court.

Article 133 is the one that deals with Officers.

The bad thing about these investigations is that it ends up being like peeling layers of an onion. Once they start looking under a microscope they find things that normally would never be seen or heard of, all however, would be a violation of the recruit training SOP. Once its discovered, no matter how trivial it may seem, or even the evidence being substantial, it's laid out for the public and congress critters to look at.
I can truthfully say that If anyone ever investigated me this fully as a Drill Instructor and prodded Recruits to talk I could have been burned every platoon I even trained. I'm not saying I was a sadistic ass, but I constantly cursed, called recruits out of their name and overdid the IT. I may have been a little too zealous in "adjusting their position" as well, and they may or may not have gotten the exact amount of time to consume their meals.
Think pretty much every DI, DS CC that ever trained recruits could be hammered under the scrutiny thats going on with this one company now.

You obviously have never been to Parris Island. NOBODY gets treated with any form of respect when they first arrive, that is sort of the point. They break them down then build them up You might want to Netflix the movie "the DI" with Jack Webb, great flick and you will get a watered down version of how recruits have been treated for decades.

Yeah I was in the Pit at PI in my Alpha's 30 minutes before a Battalion Commanders inspection. I scuffed my perfectly shined shoe in the sand, then spent the next hour getting smoked on the quarter deck for having scuffed shoes. Life as a recruit is supposed to suck. It should be as close to combat as they can get it without actually killing anyone. The goal of recruit training is to prepare you for combat and to weed out the non hackers who cant deal with the stress, the 4 who testified obviously can't handle the stress.

There could be something to this.... or, since only 4 recruits testified, it could be BS drummed up by a thin skinned reservist, someone who shouldn't have ever gotten passed MEPS, and a sick call ranger. You'd think after interviewing nearly 60 people that you'd get more than 4 willing to testify if anything seriously outside the lines was going on.
