He must be listening to Donald, as it's actually a fence. Also, that is a false equivalency. The fence is to keep people who may harass the family at arm's length. The border wall is to keep out all people of a certain ethnic group who mostly just want better opportunities for their families.

What ethnic group would that be? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_contemporary_ethnic_groups . Are there people from South America you don't want living next to you such as M 13?

LTC David Brown - LOL I grew up in a neighborhood with Mexican (and Asian) gangs. Immigration isn't the issue, lack of social support is.

No, not enforcing laws is the problem. The problem I have with a lot of progressives is they are not honest. Are we going going to have immigration laws or not? Progressives seem to think no but won't be honest about it. They don't want gun control laws, they want guns banned. BUT they know if they are honest they lose so they lie.shouls we enforce our laws?if no then why not change them and have porous boarders? Because they would lose. 100% BS. Did you know illegals entering the US have been given instructions on how to get into the welfare system? It is insane.

LTC David Brown - All those things you think progressives think aren't true. No one can presume what people are actually thinking, especially attributing a solitary thought process to a whole group. After talking to people on here, I accepted that not everyone voted for Trump for the same reasons, and not everyone favors everything from a certain party. If you are tell me that all progressives are the same, then how do I believe that all conservatives aren't?

Undocumented immigrants do not even qualify for welfare, food stamps, Medicaid, and most other public benefits. Most of these programs require proof of legal immigration status and under the 1996 welfare law, even legal immigrants cannot receive these benefits until they have been in the United States for more than five years.

Non-citizen immigrant adults and children are about 25% less likely to be signed up for Medicaid than their poor native-born equivalents and are also 37% less likely to receive food stamps, according to a 2013 study by the Cato Institute.
Citizen children of illegal immigrants -- often derogatorily referred to as "anchor babies" -- do qualify for social benefits. Also, undocumented immigrants are eligible for schooling and emergency medical care. Currently, the average unlawful immigrant household costs taxpayers $14,387 per household, according to a recent report by The Heritage Foundation. But in its 2013 "Immigration Myths and Facts" report, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce says most economists see providing these benefits as an investment for the future, when these children become workers and taxpayers.
A CBO report on the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2007 concluded that a path to legalization for immigrants would increase federal revenues by $48 billion. Such a plan would see $23 billion in increased costs from the use of public services, but ultimately, it would produce a surplus of $25 billion for government coffers, CBO said.

So all your arguments are invalid.
