I'm sure a similar poll would lead similar results. This isn't a left versus right thing and I know that it's been joked about, but having a job plays a major factor in whether or not you protest.

Ignore the political stance. People with jobs have something to lose. Even more so if that individual has a family to take care of.

I'm sure most of these protesters either have someone taking care of them, or they don't work a job well enough where they can't afford to lose it. I know the most popular argument is "well maybe they just took a day off from work". While that is always a possible scenario, it is equally unlikely given that most people who do take time off need to give more than a 24 hr notice period.

While the German party is much smaller, it seems to follow similar ideals. A striking difference is the frequent use of violence and threats the liberals have been utilizing for over a year now to obtain their goals.

One of the issues a poll like this reveals, is where would people who spend much of their time demonstrating, get enough money to live a normal life, particularly if they go to different events within the USA. Many businesses would fire people who have been arrested. This leaves paid activists, wealthy individuals, self employed, unemployed, students, adults who live with their parents, etc.
