1stSgt Nelson Kerr We dont have the infrastructure to truly exploit our natural gas yet. The pipelines aren't there and we stopped building them about 3 years ago due to some gov regulation. I live in Western PA where we literally have enough gas to power the US for the next 200 years but we can't exactly reach it yet. We are at least a decade away and coal is a good gap filler, once we are done with it, it will be an export. The only thing that killed coal was over regulation from the federal gov.

Cpl Joshua Caldwell - The problem is that Coal kills people, not talking about global warning just simple nasty pollution not to mention the effects of acid rain from burning sulfur containing coal. What is also the problem is that getting to the remaining coal r seems to increasingly require obscenities like mountain top removal.

1stSgt Nelson Kerr I hear you, i also live near coal country, WV is 20 minutes from my house, and coal is the entire economy down there, as well as KY. Those people need coal to live. If you say a bad word about coal down there, you just started a fight. We may not use it, at some point we wont, but the rest of the world will That market will still exist long after we are done with it. The evolution of power production is towards higher yield and cleaner energy, but the evolution in the US is far ahead of lots of the world. The poorest in the world will benefit from coal when we are exporting it. I have driven past areas where they took mountains off, watt a few years and you can't tell that it ever happened.

China is far ahead of us in coal production, one result is that they have cities where people are doing daily business in protective masks and there are now "pollution refugees' from northern cities

Have you noticed that trumps anti-wind power fetish is backfiring on him in the UK where anti-wind activists are backing off because they are afraid to a be associated with his stance?

those restrictions stopped the mining of coal being Mines and shipped to Ports to be shipped Overseas...
This Move will be good for the folks at the ports as well and the Railroads...
