Tactical fitness is the way of the future for the military. PT needs to focus on functional exercises, not simple push simple lever & run. SM legs need to be strong. Running, by itself, cannot do this. Their core must be sturdy. Simple situps fail as it only works the front of the core and can lead to issues with the neck if poor form is utilized. A strong upper body cannot be obtained simply by doing pushups, ESPECIALLY if poor form is used.
There needs to be a physical fitness regimen STRONGLY encouraged to build the functional athlete, not just a PT god.

I agree 100%. In the SpecOps community they've started focusing more on "prehab" or ways to build people up in a way that will help keep them from getting hurt in the first place. Unfortunately getting the services to buy in as a whole is going to be tough. They only see that these type of services cost money. In the long run focusing injury prevention probably would save them money.

CPT (Join to see) - especially a service (cough cough...Air Force) that uses a measuring tape to determine if you're too fat to serve.
