Very Interesting and very easy to isolate and defeat such a BCT within the confinds of a mega-city. It would be much easier to set up outside the mega-city and treat it like a contested beach head operation, conducting operations inside but then rotating back out to a protected zone. But once you commit to moving your forces inside the city the LOCs can be easily blocked and then the fight is on for re-supply. The BSB's IIIB capability has been reduced to support limited offensive operations so anything past 96 hours with no re-supply would be a challenge for any BCT Commander.

LTC (Join to see) this needs to be a mission articulated through the Universal Task List and assigned to a collection of units. I teeter on the edge of METL for this. A lone mega BCT is not enough force structure to handle this mission. A small village consumes a Battalion to clear and secure. The Brits call it FISH - fighting in someone's house. Every time you round a corner or clear a space, you have to leave a detail to secure it so the enemy doesn't pop up behind you.

It would be interesting to see what the employment considerations were for the Berlin Brigade. They were expected to occupy West Berlin and cause trouble for the passing Soviets. For a time they were the MOUT experts in the Army, along with 7th ID for a short time.

LTC (Join to see) The BSB would have to be like three kluged together to cover the III, V, Maintenance, and Medical of Armor, Stryker, Aviation etc. I envisioned an ACR Support Squadron with expanded capability and robust FSCs...dare I say approaching Group Level, commanded by an O6 or a second command O5 with O4 Troop-type Commanders. The FSCs would have to be second-command Commanders. It would have to be stacked to ensure they could handle all those pieces and types of support....simultaneously.

LTC (Join to see) I see they have also plugged in an EOD BN, don't know how well they would do being organic to a BCT considering that were stripped of nearly all organizational maintenance and STAMIS with the expectation someone else will just do it for them.

The Brigade staff would have to be huge due to the diverse assets in the BCT.

SSG(P) (Join to see) - it would almost look like a division staff just because of the organic combined arms assets.
