In my opinion, the wall will not make us safer. Just like the military adapts to different obstacles, so will people who want to cross. The problem is not building the wall, the problem here is the money. Money that will be spent not because the wall will make us safer, but because president Trump will say he built the wall and he can take credit for it, nothing else. President Trump is more worried about his own glory than anything else. Just remember, he won't be there more than 8 years and then what? This is America and there is no such thing as right or wrong answer on this. We are entitled to our opinion, and everyone has one.

SSG Michael Hartsfield - First of all, it's not being taken away...they are being PAID for their land at fair market value based on appraisal of land in that area by recent sales. Furthermore, he speaks for himself and other ranchers around there have spoken for themselves....the majority of land owners and ranchers in this area all agree and want to do this.

1SG (Join to see) - to answer your question, it won't. It will be seen as a status symbol, a new way to spit in the face of a president to continue or increase the flow of illegal immigrants and drugs in spite of Trump's wall

The wall is stupid. I cannot imagine a circumstance where it is a reasonable use of tax dollars. It will not stop illegal immigration at all (most illegal immigrants don't run across the border). It also will not even slow the cartels.

The only reason it will be built is because Trump said he would build it if he won, and that is a stupid reason.

And before anyone says it, yes I do live in one of those border states (Texas, to be exact). It will not be beneficial. That's a guarantee.

The funny part is, we have treaties with Mexico that prevent structures from being built in certain areas. One town is next to a floodplain, and building a wall there could push flood waters through towns on both sides of the border. I forget, is Trump cutting FEMA? We're about to Trump up that government spending.

PFC Alexander Oliveira - RE: "people are going to lose..." Wow! Do you really believe that level of rhetoric? I can only counter by saying don't believe all the doom and gloom you hear on TV and Social Media and from people who are upset the Trump won. If you have to, then at least try to listen to both sides of the argument and withhold judgement until the rhetoric is proven true or false.

Sgt Kelli Mays Okay, I know that, but the floodplains argument still stands. This isn't the first time an administration tried to build a wall. The fact is, in some areas where it might be "needed", it just isn't the right terrain.

SSG Jessica Bautista - The floodplain argument is not valid. Here is a picture of one of the current wall segments. Water and small animals can pass through it with no problem.
