The guy went AWOL back in 1972... unless he killed someone on his way out the door, why should anyone care? Give him a dishonorable discharge and congratulate him for keeping his nose clean these past 45 years.

That's pretty much all they are going to do.
After watching the video, he did us an alias to purchase his house and file bankruptcy. Will be interesting to see how he obtained that. There could well be some identity theft charges against him.

I read of one AWOL, later categorized as deserter, from Fort Monmouth during WWII. In the late 1950's, a skeleton was found a few feet off the road, in the weeds of the meadowlands area. The dog tags ID'd the remains as the missing soldier, who was apparently the victim of a hit and run.

IIRC, his remains were found just a few feet off a fairly busy road, in those tall brine-loving weeds of the Jersey meadowlands around Secaucus. In spite of the traffic and population of the area, he might just as well have been on the dark side of the moon.

Yeah I was just thinking if he got side swiped and had to suffer in pain and die deserter or not couldn't wish that on anyone
