How about that. Well the ACA is still repairable; it would just take some effort from a Congress willing to try and make it work. Otherwise, someone is whispering in Trump's ear that Single-Payer will make you the greatest president ever.

I think the ACA has done it's job, it's provided coverage to millions who did not have it before. It's done it in an unsustainable way but it's done it nonetheless.

The ACA can't work long term, when it does collapse I don't think the nation as a whole will tolerate those millions being effectively thrown off of insurance even if they did not have insurance prior to the enactment of the ACA.

Where do you go from here? The most recent GOP plan was even more unsustainable than the ACA. Hardcore conservatives want to just get rid of it and let people who can't afford or can't qualify for healthcare without the ACA go without.

Single payer is almost certainly going to happen, not a question of if but when IMO. Now the arch-conservatives will fight it tooth and nail but I doubt they will get their way.

MCPO Roger Collins - Even that heavily biased source acknowledges that "millions" gained healthcare as a result of the ACA.

Perfectly reasonable to discuss the high costs of the ACA but that isn't really my point. My point is that I don't think the nation will ever go back to the way things were before the ACA.

PO2 Robert Aitchison - In an effort to provide 6% of the US population with Health Insurance. They moved twice that from the solidly Middle Class to the lower middle class, while putting just as many people on Medicaid (free insurance for the poor) as were added to the insured roles.

And again, opinions rather than facts. At a minimum, provide something that shows you know what you are talkimg about. No, things will never be the same, but perhaps decisions can be made by the citizens as to buy insurance or not without incurring a penalty.
