The authors last question is very interesting...what is the Democrats end game here? There is no way a democrat could make an alternate appointment before 2021.

The GOP can exercise the nuclear option whenever they want and confirm Gorsuch with a simple majority. Why don't they? I suspect they are enjoying themselves watching the Democrats make fools of themselves.

I think they also don't want to take that last step...in permanently setting the precedent for the senate. It sure would be nice to get enough dems to NOT support a filibuster.

They have no end game. At this point, they are scurrying ants doing anything and everything to keep votes. They devastated the country for the last eight years and are hell bent on making it four more.
