PO1 John Crafton - From my reading of the article, it seems like there were two guns involved, and the end result was one dead and one seriously injured. I'm not so quick to blame the father in this scenario. It the 22-year-old son was behaving irrationally with a gun and threatening his father, then the father might have been justified (self-defense) in shooting his son, as strange as that may sound.
Of course, I have no idea what really happened, so I'm just speaking hypothetically.

PO1 John Crafton - The way I see it, as if my son pulled a gun on me to use in anger, he had better shoot me because your DAMN straight he is getting a beat down! Child or not, I feed you, clothed you, took care of your needs and then you PULL a gun on me! Mind blown(boom, purple dust) ass whippin! nough said. lol
As far as I understand it is illegal to posses a hand gun in Chicago, let alone be licensed. I could be wrong, but they are both illegal guns.

SGT Bryon Sergent - It's not as illegal as it used to be to own a handgun in Chicago, but it's sure as hell not because of the good will of the powers that be.

It is neither... it's two stupid people who happen to be related as Father and Son... or WERE related as it were. I've owned a gun most of my life. I've carried a gun every day for a majority of my life. I haven't pulled it on anyone, yet, and hope I never have to. What's interesting is the BBC finds this newsworthy and meanwhile the liberal rags in the United States continue to ignore the daily blood fest in Chicago.
