With its uncommon blend of quality American craftsmanship, top-class fit and finish, and fine components, the Sierra 316L is an entry-level rifle in price only. Built around forged 7075-T6 receivers, the Sierra 316L comes with a lightweight-profile CMV steel barrel that helps to shave weight. The barrel features a 1:7" twist, same as the standard-issue M4…so if mil-spec is your thing, the 316L is a fine choice.

The rifle also comes standard with a 15" M-Lok free-float handguard that won't affect barrel harmonics and accepts a wide range of modern accessories. Completing the package are a better-than-mil-spec trigger and DTI low-profile gas block. All told, it's a lot of gun for the money and an excellent entry point into the world of ARs.
