The Bible is a two part Story. Part 1. God verbally told Moses face to face how the world and all things in it came to be, and the beginning of the Nation we now call Israel. And part 2. Tell the story of God sending his Only begotten Son to save the human race, due to Adam and Eva's sin of disobedience that doomed all of Mankind. Everything that we see, touch, feel and know. All started at Genesis 1:1 , now what God wants to know from us is " Do you believe what he left on record ? " if not, then nothing else can help you find that eternal peace that passeth all understanding. The Bible day's " That without Faith, it is impossible to please God. For he that cometh to God MUST Believe that he is, and is a rewarded of them that DILIGENTLY seek him.

SFC Kelly your comments are appreciated. You are probably not the only one who feels that way.

Capt Prickett, the Bible says that "God is the same yesterday, today and forever." Also the Bible says that " God is light and in him is no darkness at all, nor shadow of turning" . God is eternal and perfect and Holy. God can not increase or get better, God is faultless and we all will stand before him very soon. Capt. Prickett God did mot say we have to understand everything about him. Be he did say we must believe him.

SFC Kelly Fuerhoff - I know a lot of people who share your sentiment and many Christians who struggle with that very concept. God doesn't change between the Old and New testaments, however, the relationship between him and humanity does. Through the entire bible, God wished to be in a relationship with those he created, however, humanity rejected God, seeking its own way. Rather than smite us for this rejection on the spot, he decided to be merciful and allow us to live how we please for now.
Those who embrace God, during this time, he makes covenants(kinda like a contract) with rewarding their faith and their obedience despite their imperfections.
With Noah, he agreed never to flood the Earth again regardless of how evil man becomes.
With Abraham, he granted land to his descendants.
With Moses and the people of Israel, he originally accompanied them in the form of a pillar of fire or a cloud(depending on if it was day or night) in order to guide them, however, the Israelites refused to follow him and, instead, chose to create a golden bull statue to worship. God was ready to kill all but Moses but Moses reached a covenant with God to spare his people. Under this covenant, God created the law because the people rejected his direct guidance.
Of course, there was also the covenant he made with David establishing his bloodline as the rightful ruler of Israel.
When Jesus came, he fulfilled the law by abiding by it to the letter and he fulfilled David's covenant by being born of David's bloodline. He then took the punishment of death, that was to be administered for failure to live up to the law, in the place of humanity- effectively freeing humanity from our own failures. All this just so that God could finally have the very thing he wanted- a relationship with those he created.
All that he asks from us, in order for our failure to be taken off the books, is for us to admit we aren't perfect and accept what Jesus did for us. From there, we enter into a new covenant. One of relationship rather than rule- what he wanted from humanity since the days of Genesis. Of course, that doesn't mean that we are off the hook morally speaking. He still has his expectations. Never the less, it does settle our debt to him for rejecting him.

Wow, what are you so angry about?
Anyway, I was in the process of answering your question about Moses in one of your other Text. But somehow I lost the page so I will answer it in this one if you don't mind. You said that Moses did not invent the Brazen serpent on a pole and our pharmaceutical business has that at the symbol today. Well your right, God invented that symbol.
Book of Numbers 21: 5 - 9.
In plain English, I hope you find true peace. I sense something is eating away at you, if you ever want to talk One on One. Here is my E-mail address [login to see]
You are ever in my Prayers.
