What are your thoughts on the Amelia Earhart disappearance?

Tragic ending either way; spies captured by the Japanese or crashed and lost on a deserted island? We have posted a few stories over the last few months and I have not seen the new HC show on this one as yet. Anyone feel like throwing an opinion out?

I've actually wondered about this off and on the past two decades or so. Humankind has to be getting close to having the technology to swath larger regions of the ocean floor to look for wreckage. It very well may come down to the cost/logistics of such a large project.

You bring up a great point MSgt Jason McClish cost/ logistics. My gut feeling is there is a person out there that will find a few more expeditions to "find" her. Sell ad space, make innuendos, raise questions, and never answer the question. Slick way to make a buck off a tragedy. America loves a conspiracy theory narrated by Big Foot. I am very American as well.

The Japanese I'm sure we're aware of her flight path because she made so much publicity in her around the world flight and I doubt they would interfere. I don't think they would capture her if anything I think they would have rescued her giving her a hero's welcome and giving her a free trip back to the US.

LTC Stephen Conway - I think I read that a few days ago- was a lead in to this one done by the Discovery Channel I believe. Even had some of the transmission being read I am assuming in the back ground.

Boy, all sorts of conspiracy theory opportunities here. Even in this current narrative, lots of vaporware evidence. Of the choices, likely neither. If the photo is real, a more likely scenario would be "we'd better kill her lest the world find out what the dumb A's did to her before we could make a decision on what to do with her." Every time these theses things come around, people want to create a well choreographed dance when the vast majority of the times, things just get away from you without thinking and you're left with few options.
