From other reports on this the woman approached the Police car on the drivers side and the Police fired through either the door or the window and the bullet struck the woman. There could be several reasons for this and what comes to mind could be a Rookie Officer with thoughts of past shooting on Police while they are in their car.
- Reference your comment on Police as thugs with badges. You should visit your nearest Police station and let them know your thoughts and also know that you will not be requiring their assistance if ever you or your family members are harmed.

I will admit that an unarmed woman in her pajamas (I read that in another story) was shot dead after calling 9-1-1 is a bad, very bad shooting.
I grow concerned that cops are so paranoid they are overreacting in too many situations. I know the streets are dangerous but you have to accept some level of risk to be in law enforcement. Shooting first and asking questions later is not an acceptable outcome.
I don't think they are thugs with badges but it may be that they are too concerned for their own well being to be street cops. It is a dangerous job.

I would chalk this up to poor training. You are correct that LE is a dangerous job (I did it for 30+ years). But proper training adds confidence. Many cops get the majority of their training at the Academy and very little afterwards. Constant training (in all areas) is the key to being safe, protecting the public, and not getting fired or put in prison.

Looks bad for the cops but I will wait and see what evidence comes out before I decide what I think.
