I think he hit the nail on the head with the 3rd party analogy. Think about it in the macrocosm. Buy your child a vehicle, does the child take care of the car the same way they would had they researched and bought the car on their own. What happens when that vehicle breaks down, do they come to daddy warbucks with the bill or do they ask for another "more reliable" vehicle.

The government produces nothing, they are a consumer and the taxes they collect is not their money. Some small committee decides whether or not to spend money and where it's spent. And they usually try to make sure that money is spent in their district. They don't care what the cost is. Those of us who serve, or have served, know what government waste looks like or at least should.

If you or I had to find insurance, we'd do it the same way we shopped for auto insurance, we'd find a reliable company who offers good rates that fit our budget. All the crap they offered ACA plans through the exchanges don't help me, i'd rather just have a catastrophic plan and go shop for a doctor when I need routine work. It would be cheaper in the long run and we the people would be the catalyst to drive down costs.

Cpl (Join to see) - Now lets think about that. If it's all about competition that drives cost down and we depend on more options voluntarily being made available by competitors, it works out like he says. Unless you're in an environment that has no competition and it has nothing to do with 3rd party federal government. Cellular, internet, and cable/satellite TV services are a clear example of this. Some places you have half a dozen choices and other places you only have one or two or none regardless of the demand.
I'm a parent and will buy my of age young adult a vehicle; a parent can buy the vehicle for their kid or be responsible and make it a shared experience that is a learning experience.
I find all insurance concepts a waste of money but I also find the billing methods of for-profit businesses most unethical forms of corruption. I.E. a $50 dollar charge on hospital bill for the doctor to review and sign documentation in regards to my wife's pregnancy...WTF!

HEALTHCARE IS NOT A RIGHT. I needed to capitalize that sentence to punctuate my disgust with the entire history of this issue. More and more and more people in America are being led by a liberal agenda to believe that Washington can and will provide all. That dog just don't hunt!!!

The OPPORTUNITY is the only thing the government should be ensuring. Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness is an individual responsibility. We are an individually self-governing citizenry. If you can't self-govern, you really don't belong here.

Anyone who does not see the founding of this country, i.e. Declaration of Independence, and the Law of the Country, i.e., the US Constitution with the Bill of Rights as codependent documents are failing to understand this country's founding.

The perfect quote relative to issues like healthcare is this: Americans are all afforded EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES, but not EQUAL RESULTS.
