Watch McConnell whine on the floor of the senate was hilarious.
But trump is wrong I will not get "tired of winning"

The GOP is being led by some pretty weak, ineffective leaders. It pains me to say this but it is true McConnell and Ryan are weak and some of the more senior members such as McCain and Graham are borderline pathetic. These are people that need to be weeded out still. They are creatures of the system.

The democrats have their own too. Pelosi, Schumer, Wasserman-Schultz, I could go on but you get the drift.

The GOP, in Congress, is failing to deliver one of the key deliverables they promised, namely repeal or repeal and replace. This is the GOP establishment failure not a Trump failure. He cannot EO Obamacare out of existence there must be a bill passed for him to sign. He is ready to sign the GOP leadership cannot get their members on board.

It is said in business that the enemy of great is good. In the political realm it seems the enemy of progress is perfection. Some want a perfect bill that meets all of their expectations. That is not realistic. You need to advance the ball when you have the ball. The GOP seems to want to throw a perfect Hail Mary pass from their own 1 yard line instead of trying to advance the ball down the field in a series of plays.

True, a very good analogy. No such thing as a perfect bill and law. Guess what the ACA is? A good bill that needs improvement cause it's not perfect.

This is all a result of the Repub decision in 2009 to oppose anything and everything Obama submitted, as a matter of principle. Even if he suggested ideas that the republicans used to support, they would oppose it anyway. So they opposed Obamacare lock stock and barrel. However, every year when surveys were done about Obamacare, when the polls stated the provisions of the ACA, it got higher ratings than when they called it Obamacare, even though they are the same thing. This reflects the knee jerk rejection of all things Obama.

So now, the republicans found themselves backed into a corner. They couldn't come up with a plan that was actually better than Obamacare. The public favored Obamacare over the plan the house passed by a huge margin. And Trump's promises of great plans that will lower premiums while not affecting Medicare and Medicaid, and cover preexisting conditions proved to be a total lie. Trump showed he had no knowledge or awareness of healthcare issues. So he was just desperate to sign anything, no matter how bad, so he could claim a "win".

Clearly what needs to be done is to keep the things that worked with Obamacare, and fix those parts that didn't. That would require the republicans to back away from their "rip it out by the roots" approach. But they just can't admit that is what is needed. They have trapped themselves in the rhetoric of repealing Obamacare rather than focusing on improving healthcare for Americans.

Their proposed bills were so bad that they couldn't even get enough votes to pass it themselves. It's time for the republicans to put the people first and work to develop a plan that they are proud to show the American people rather than a bill they write in secret and roll it out a couple of hours before the vote.

Do you agree that the ACA was passed as a progressive attempt for the government takeover of health care in our country?

More an interim step to single payer, Obama stated that was his goal. Still on track.
