Very good article from a time when owning slaves or indentured servant's was common place.

Don't justify slavery, simply point out that in 1700s the attitude towards it isn't what it is now, or even until the Civil War for that matter.

In our modern culture slavery" is abhorrent yet slavery is more prominent now than it was in the 18th century - Islamic practices, sex slave trade, indentured servants for life, etc.
