This could mean disruption if the Chief is stationed at a shore installation where there are not appropriate sea billets, but of course as we all know, Needs of the Navy...

Well, if the Chief is at a shore installation because there are no sea billets for his rating, he will most likely remain there because the way I read it those chiefs ordered to sea will be most likely filling CPO rating vacancies at sea or for new ships.

CWO3 Dennis M. - Yup. Unless they are ordered to become career counselor, Command Chiefs, or any of the other various command type billets they have these days. But that list was very rating specific...
